Nothing on this site is monitored in real time. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 9-1-1. Alerts are published as police services release them and may lag behind events; do not rely on this site for decisions about your immediate safety.

Wanted, arrested and missing-person content

People shown in the Wanted, Most Wanted and Arrested sections are sourced from public releases by Canadian police services and partner programs such as the BOLO Program. Every person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. A listing means only that a police service has publicly sought that person; an “arrested” notice means only that police have reported an arrest, not a conviction. Do not approach, follow or attempt to apprehend anyone. Pass information to police, to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477, or through our anonymous tip form. If you believe a listing is out of date or wrong, contact us and we will check with the source service and correct or remove it promptly. Missing-children cases are published only where an official source has made the case public, and are removed when the source does.

Our content

Articles, photographs, layouts and the Crime Watch Canada name and logo are owned by us or used under licence, and are protected by Canadian copyright and trademark law. You may read, link to and share links to our pages, and quote short excerpts with attribution. You may not republish whole articles, scrape the site, or use our content to train automated systems without written permission. Content contributions carry the views of their authors, which are not necessarily ours. Editorial explainers are general information, not legal advice; consult a lawyer about your own situation.

Alerts are summaries of police releases and link to the originating source where one exists. We do our best to be accurate and correct errors quickly, but we do not warrant that every item is complete or current.

Subscriptions

Digital, Print + Digital and Organization plans are billed annually in Canadian dollars at the price shown when you order, and renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel from your account at any time; cancellation stops the next renewal and access continues to the end of the paid term. If you cancel within 14 days of a first purchase and have not downloaded an issue, we refund in full. Print copies are mailed to the Canadian address on the account; we cannot deliver print outside Canada. Digital editions are for your personal use — an Organization plan covers up to ten copies for one workplace, school or group, not resale.

Community Supporter pages and advertising

Businesses that advertise with us receive a one-page site at /s/<your-name> and a directory listing. You are responsible for everything you publish there: you confirm you have the right to use the text, logo and images; that offers are genuine and honoured as stated; and that the page complies with the Competition Act, provincial consumer-protection law and any rules of your profession. We review pages before they go live and may edit, decline or take down a page that is misleading, unlawful, offensive or off-topic for a community-safety publication, refunding any unused term where we do so without cause. A supporter listing is advertising, not an endorsement by Crime Watch Canada or by any police service, and the “Proud Community Supporter” badge may be used only while the plan is active.

Tips and submissions

By submitting a tip you agree that we may forward it, as written, to the responsible police service. Knowingly submitting false information to police is an offence (public mischief, Criminal Code s. 140). Contributions and letters you send for publication may be edited for length and clarity and, once published, may be kept in our archive.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site to harass, threaten or identify private individuals; to attempt to access accounts or systems that are not yours; to send unsolicited messages through our forms; to interfere with the service; or to post content that is unlawful, defamatory or infringing. We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.

Liability

The site and magazine are provided as they are. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss arising from reliance on information published here, from interruptions to the service, or from the acts of third parties, including advertisers. Where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, and disputes are heard in the courts of Alberta. We may update these terms; the date at the top tells you when we last did, and material changes to subscription or supporter terms are emailed to account holders before they take effect.
