Our story

Serving Canadian communities since 2002

Crime Watch Canada Magazine has served corporate and community members since 2002, with the dedication of its owner and staff. We will continue to provide citizens with quality products that help protect and inform.

The reason we publish

Do you know?

Nine questions we put to readers. Most people can answer two or three.

  1. How many charges are laid in Canada each year for impaired driving?
  2. Are adults and youth under the same laws for drinking and driving?
  3. What ice can do to you, and to your children?
  4. How to spot a grow operation?
  5. The risk your child is in while surfing the internet?
  6. Which law in Canada’s Criminal Code specifically targets trafficking in persons?
  7. If your child, co-worker or spouse is doing drugs?
  8. Who really lives next door to you?
  9. What your child is talking about when he or she goes to a friend’s to “bag food”?

Feeling a little uncomfortable about not knowing some of the answers? The world moves at a fast pace and it is virtually impossible to gather all the information we need to keep ourselves and the people we care about safe. That is the job of this magazine. Start with the features and explainers.

A national network

Local stories, read across the country

Alerts come from RCMP detachments and municipal police services in every province and territory. Readers see what is happening where they live, and the businesses that support the magazine are listed in their own communities.

What we stand for

Our values

Transparency

Every alert published on our platform is sourced, categorized and traceable. We do not publish unverified rumours or speculation.

Privacy

Anonymous reporting is a core feature, not an afterthought. Reporter identities are never shared without explicit consent.

Accessibility

Crime affects every community. Our platform is free to use and designed for all Canadians.

Community first

We exist to serve communities. We do not replace law enforcement.

Our history

Since 2002

Crime Watch Canada has served corporate and community members in Canada since 2002, published by Crime Report Publications Ltd. from Edmonton, Alberta. We believe that together with corporate and community members we can ensure a safer environment for all Canadian citizens — connecting law enforcement and community organizations with crime alerts, incident reporting and safety intelligence across all thirteen provinces and territories.

The magazine is funded by the businesses that advertise in it. In the modern edition those advertisers are Community Supporters: each one gets a page on this site and a listing by city, and each one keeps the alert network free for readers.
